sand shoes and drums......if it is the commm constant squeak when rolling bike slowly.....it is the brake springs contacting the center of the wheel hub. a slight work over of the center of hub with a dremel tool will remedy the squeak

I had the rear brake apart yesterday on my (now my daughters') Roadster2 to replace the original tire. The rear Brake Spring was the culprit. It had ground a small groove in the rear hub. Rather than grind the hub, I carefully ground off a little of the rear spring. It appears to have fixed the squeek....HOWEVER....I completely stripped off the threads on the cable retainer and have not gotten the Rear Brake back into service.
Anyone know if you can still buy the cable retainers?? (Local motorcycle dealer was no good...they say their cables all are pre-fabbed with both ends at the factory.) I looked on the website in Festus, MO but did not see this part (essentially a small bolt with a hole bored perpendicular to lock the cable in place) listed. I tried calling, but they're only open M-THu...

Jshoe, I have the part your in need of...I recommend touching the hub with a grinder and replacing that spring...you dont want spring to break at ground area. M-Thurs 10am-5pm MC+Visa accepted
