I am restoring a 1970 Roadster and the back wheel wobbled when i got it so i replaced the bearings and they dont fit snug on the axle (large bolt) and it still wobbles but more then just because the bearings aren't snug. Besides a bent rim could it be anything else? If it is a bent rim and wobbles will that be bad for riding around on?

the brgs should fit snug on the axle and not wobble. It sounds as if the brgs are incorrect for your bike.
Bent rim, loose spokes can cause wobble too

bent rim can sometimes be pulled straight or straighter tightening the spokes. It all depends on how bad the bend it.
Do not ride it with the wheel brgs loose........very unsafe

Thanks for the info. I got different bearings that are now snug so ill have to see if the rim is bent b/c it is really hard to see if it is. Also it may have been that the original owner had welded the brake cup on a little crooked. Anyway, it should be fixed soon.

Hi BW me again and I looked at the spokes on my wheel and a few in the same area are a little loose, possibly causing the wobble. How would you suggest on tightening them? Thank you so much for all of your help!!

spin the rim and check for wobble at the loose spoke area........if that is the area that wobbles......tighten left spokes if rim wobbles right or visa versa

Never mind, my dad has a spoke tightener we can use. Sorry I am kind of new to some of this. Thanks for putting up with all the questions!
