Did Rupp Bandits have a bearing type motor, or, did they have a bushing motor? I know they had 5/8 cranks and were not TC. What literature I find does not say, but with it being a entry level bike I would think it would be bushinh type. My dad was a Rupp parts man but left in 1970 so he does not know, but told me some Rupps used them prior. Is a Bandit worth restoring to original? I have a Scrambler motor and a vintage H35 bushing motor with a 3/4 crank. I could use one or the other but would like to keep it original. I do see alot of Rupps listed as restored with new motors and other aftermarket parts. Also, the axles that came with it were wrong so I am looking to replace them. Can't find anything but 5/8 axles and this bike takes 1/2" Would grade 5 or grade 8 bolts of correct size work OK? I have found grade 5 bolts that would work perfect.
