I purchased a Black Widow or so I think i did. There are no lights, it has a Dellorto Carb and large black kill button, the seat has more curve in it than my Roadster, Seat cover has tall RUPP letter, does not have the original exaust. Single wire that hooks to the kill switch coming out of the motor. How else can I tell if it is a REAL DEAL BW. The seat cover doesn't have holes in it from where the tail bolts on like my Roadster. I don't know what else to look for.
Does the serial # inidicate, Is there a certain sequence in production that these were produced that would indicate BW?
Does anyone have experience with this?

RT, You have a valid question. Unfortunately, there are bikes being passed off as original BW's, whether intentional or not. Knowing the history on the bike is very important when making a purchase. All BW's came with either HS40-55355C OR HS40-55330C engine numbers. Any other number would indicate the original engine has been replaced. The seat cover should have a small hole under the lettering on the rear of the seat. This is where the rear reflector was mounted. However, if the seat cover was replaced, the reflector may have been removed and not reinstalled. Contrary to poplular belief, BW's came with 12" wheels in either 28 OR 24 spokes, but would have 12" IRC Rupp Motorcross tires on front and rear. Many people favor the look of the 28 spoke wheels, but 24 spoke wheels were also used. Of course, there are other identifying items, including the serial number sticker on the seat pan. Send me an email, and I would be happy to elaborate. The good news is that you can still get some NOS parts as well as alot of quality repros if you plan to repair anything or restore the bike. Check with Brandt at ruppparts@aol.com .
