Hi All....I recently bought a couple Rupps, a Scrambler and an Enduro. They are both pretty much original, but I want to take them apart, rebuild them, and reassemble to like new condition. I have a couple questions. First, how are they dated, I have been told mine are 1971 or newer by the steering stop on the gooseneck, and the centerline distance of the TC is 7", which was what they were after 1971. Correct? Also, are there any paint codes so I can get the correct colors, the Scrambler is red, the Enduro is green. Anybody know of a book that is availiable with this info in it? I also have an older Rupp C-350 " Electra",( I think), but that's another project for after these. Any info out there?....Thanks, Scott

Hi Scott, Here you go. I typed this up before but couldn't see which thread it was in.: Pre 1970 - Looks more like "mini-bike", smaller wheels, engine sits level, could have 2-speed clutch/jackshaft. 1970 - Roadster, Enduro, Scrambler - 10" Spoke wheels. Sprint - mini-bike wheels. External springs on front end, Space center-to-center between engine outpuit shaft and Jackshaft is 8" for models w/ torque converter. Most I've seen have silver gas tanks. Sprint & Bandit do not have TC-1 1971 - Springs inside front fork tubes. ***Frame, gas tank and rear fender paint matches***. Roadster2, Black Widow, Enduro have 12" spoke wheels, Hustler, Scrambler and Bandit have 10" steel wheels and Sprint has mini bike wheels. Sprint & Bandit do not have TC-1. 1972 ( and 1973 ) - Pretty much the same as 1971's but frame is painted black. Not sure if Sprint, Bandit or Black Widow where offered. 1974 & 1975 - Different Paint scheme. Painted fenders with strip decals is the easiest thing to see. Not sure, but there may have only been one model because I haven't seen anything but Roadsters. Not sure which years the Trail Swinger was offered. For paint codes, try emailing Brandt (Mr. Black Widow) at SC3283@aol.com He just delivered a rebuild Black Widow to Mickey Rupp. see hometown.aol.com/sc3283/myhomepage.html Would Love to see a chart here some day with models and colors and years.
