Ed, Multiple choices which all depend on how good you are with engines. New can be had on Ebay or "Small Engine Warehouse" at www.smallenginewarehouse.com/ , they run around $200. New engines have exhaust port on output shaft side and will need adapter to hang muffler. Used,.... again check ebay. They weight about 30-35 lbs so figure $25-$50 S&H. Keep eye on which side exhaust port is on. Also, make sure it's 3/4" output shaft and a good 2 1/2 inches or longer and make sure it has a threaded bolt hole in the end to hold the clutch on. I'm using a freebie, but had to buy new block and carb body. Both around $65 each. I opted to buy new block because the cost of boring it .010 and larger piston was about the same. Used the freebie because it had lighting coil. Tom M.

Hey Ed, I just bought a new short block from J&L and it has worked out great for me! You need to have a donor motor to take all of the old ign. and clutch parts off of though. I got the HS50 short block and just stripped all of the parts off of my old motor and re-painted and assembled the whole thing. I also picked up all new bolts for the head and stuff while I was at it.
Hope this helps!!
Super
