hello; old guy newbe here, know nothing. what I got are a rup and a speedway from when the kids were small, I kept them and want to restor them for the grand kids. would like to start with the motors really need help with what can be done with these, is this enough to start a thread?

Parts for your Tecumseh engines are still available. If they haven't been blown or full of water, they can be brought up to snuff for less than $100.00. Or, you can buy a new Tecumseh. A 5hp sells for less than $200.00 from varoius vendors. While not original, the grand kids will still have loads of fun!

want to keep them original, the oil scraper broke off the bottom fof the rod and the bore is like .005 out of round, does not look like much wall in the bore can it be bored over? the moter does not have a tag on it and the shopes around here pretty much told me to get lost, can ya turn me on to a motor guy? thanks for the reply.

Rudy, .005" out of round is repairable with boring and honing. These motors can go .010-.020 over safely and still use genuine Tecumseh parts to maintain quality. Shoot me an email and I can steer you in the right direction. SC3283@aol.com
